Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

The ISO 14000 series of standards take the view that establishing and implementing a company's Environmental Management System is critical to establish environmental policy, objectives and targets.

This ISO standard requires that a company measure the environmental performance of all of its activities, products and services and that this performance be continually improved through monitoring. It requires an EMS audit and that applicant companies consider the environmental impact of everything that they do.
